Clinical Revenue Management
The UCSF Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences Compliance Plan for Professional Fee Billing Guidelines utilizes the guidelines of the School of Medicine of the University of California. These guidelines and procedures will be used in each clinical division and clinical practice to provide the assurance that applicable laws, regulations, and University policies and procedures for professional fee billing that impact inpatient and ambulatory care are followed.
Objectives
The procedures and guidelines are designed to accomplish the following objectives:
- To inform physicians, non-physician providers, and any individuals involved with professional fee billing about applicable laws, regulations and UCSF policies and procedures that impact professional fee billing;
- To promote programs and practices designed to provide reasonable assurance that all such individuals will follow the above stated laws, regulations and policies;
- To minimize legal risks for the Department of Ob, Gyn & RS associated with professional fee billing; and
- To provide a mechanism by which communication concerning compliance is effective and efficient.
